Folk Punk Marathon > Boston Marathon

While Boston's population temporarily tripled,
super athletic, in-shape individuals were counting calories,
staying hydrated and perfecting their jogging (pronounced YOG-ING),

I was cheerily belting Mischief Brew and doing my first round of epic spring cleaning.
And while having my soapy-handed, jump-around-Youtube ADD, I came across this video that filled me with great joy:

PAT THE BUNNY and ERIK PETERSEN.
Playing. Together.
And New Mexico Song, of all songs.

Holy shit, goosebumps.

It did the job of lifting my spirits on tax day,
(also Patriot's Day, a schoolless holiday that I don't recall ever getting off from in CT.. damn you, CT) and the mix of the two conjured some anarchist feelings that I haven't given any thought to in some time. Toss in some perfect weather and life felt pretty all right.

It's been a little difficult with all the death lately, amongst the daily, tiring tasks like worrying about when the next check is coming, if rent can be paid, where my roommates and I are headed once the lease runs out, and straight up feeding myself day to day. It seems harder and harder to enjoy things I used to frequently.

To get a little cornier for the moment,
I was glad to rediscover that some music really can affect you very positively,
and paired with the right things can brighten you up in less-than-ideal situations.

I even managed to sketch up some lyrics from Mischief Brew's Labor Day Massacre that really stuck in my head.

Take what you can get, break all but your bones.

Chalkboard paint makes every piece of furniture that much cooler.

And yes, as far as Marathon Monday goes,
I didn't exercise or eat anything that was not a caffeinated or a gigantic burrito,
but that's all right.

I got paid to feed them all at City Hall yesterday..
